VAT, Import Duties and Local Taxes (where applicable)
VAT, import duties and local taxes might all apply to an order.VAT
In accordance with the laws governing members of the European Union, 5M are obliged to charge UK VAT on all orders delivered to destinations in member countries of the EU, although EU VAT registered businesses may chose to remove the VAT charge by providing us with their VAT registration number at checkout.
The Prices displayed are all defaulted to be exclusive of VAT. If VAT is applicable to your order you are able to view the VAT inclusive order price by clicking the "Show VAT" link on the "View Basket" or "Checkout" pages. If VAT is not applicable to your order you will be notified such.
5M decide whether or not VAT is applicable based on the delivery country selected. The delivery country is selected as part of the order process.
Below is an explanation of how we handle VAT:
Orders for delivery outside of the European Union (EU)
- VAT is not applicable for orders delivered to countries outside of the EU and will therefore not be charged. However import duties and local taxes may apply when the goods arrive. These are the Customer's responsibility.
- VAT is applicable to all orders to European Union (EU) member states and will be charged at the UK rate of 20%.
- EU VAT registered businesses may chose to remove the VAT charge by providing us with their VAT registration number at checkout (this does not apply to UK VAT registered businesses where VAT must be charged).
- VAT is applicable to all UK orders and will be included in the final cost. VAT will be charged at the UK rate of 20%
Orders for delivery outside of the European Union may be subject to import duties and local taxes which are levied once the package reaches the destination country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the Customer; 5M have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so the Customer should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, please note that when ordering from 5M, the Customer is considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which the goods are3 being received. 5M can not be held responsible for the illegal import of goods or for spoiled goods that get caught in the customs clearance process.
